In January 2019, 33,000 road accidents occurred in Turkey and killed 160 people, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Police Department.
The number of injured as a result of road accidents amounted to 17,500 people.
According to the report, in January 2019, 2,900 road incidents occurred as a result of side collisions.
Moreover, 26 cases of chain accidents were reported.
The cause of 118 accidents in 2019 was speeding.
Also, 175 accidents occurred due to driving while intoxicated.
In January 2019, drivers in Turkey were fined in the amount of 216,700 Turkish liras.
