Turkey, Malaysia sign agreement on joint pistol production

Turkey and Malaysia have signed an agreement on the joint production of Turkish Zigana PX-9 pistols, Trend reports referring to Turkish media.

Another agreement between Turkey and Malaysia on the joint production of a model of Turkish gun was signed in 2018.

According to media reports, Zigana PX-9 pistols will be produced for the Malaysian police at the first stage, then it is planned to export this model to a number of neighboring countries.

Turkish holding Albayraklar and Malaysian company Dian Synergy signed agreements on cooperation in the defense industry on Jan. 10, 2019.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said that Turkey will strengthen defense industry and will become a world leader in the manufacture of defense products.

Erdogan noted that no obstacles can stop the development of Turkey's defense industry.

He noted that mass production of Turkish ALTAY tanks will soon begin.

In the recent years, Turkey has invested about $35 billion in the defense industry.
