Uzbek import of cars from Turkey shrinks

The export of cars from Turkey to Uzbekistan declined by 7.3 percent in the past nine months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, having made up over $28.5 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In September 2020, Turkey exported cars worth slightly over $4.5 million to Uzbekistan, which is 3.02 percent less compared to September 2019, said the ministry.

According to the ministry, from January through September 2020 the export of cars made up 15.7 percent of the country’s total export.

In September this year, Turkey exported the cars worth $2.6 billion to global markets, which is 24 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s car exports accounted for 17.5 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from September 2019 through September 2020), Turkey exported the cars worth over $25.1 billion abroad.
