Turkey increased the export of steel to the US by 60.3 percent from January through May 2021 compared to the same period of last year up to $279.2 million, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.
Turkey exported steel worth $84.05 million to the US in May 2021, which is by 3.1 times more than in the same month of 2020.
Turkey as a whole increased the export of steel by 48.9 percent from January through May 2021 compared to the same period of last year up to $7.2 billion.
Turkey exported steel worth $1.7 billion in May 2021, which is by 114 percent more than in the same month of 2020.
The export of Turkey’s steel reached $14.9 billion over the past 12 months (May 2020 - May 2021).
