Turkey unveils latest data on cargo, passenger traffic at Erzurum Airport

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 23

The cargo turnover of the Turkish Erzurum Airport amounted to 3,787 tons from January through July 2021, which is 39 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During this period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 3,742 tons (an increase of 40 percent on annual basis), on international - 45 tons (an increase of 12.9 percent).

The passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 419,761 people, having risen by 50 percent in annual terms. At the same time, the passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 417,830 people (an increase of 50 percent), on international - 1,931 people (an increase of two percent).

According to the ministry, the number of flights performed was 3,497, which is 47 percent more than a year earlier. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 3,437 (an increase of 48 percent), on international lines - 60 (an increase of 11 percent).

In the first 7 months of 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 57.3 million people, and the cargo turnover – 1.7 million tons.
