( AFP ) - Turkish police defused a powerful bomb hidden under a bus in central Ankara on Tuesday, the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the United States, the capital's governor Kemal Onal said.
"The meticulous work of the police averted a possible catastrophe... I do not even want to think about what would have happened if the attack had succeeded," he told journalists.
The bomb was planted under a bus in a parking lot in Kurtulus, a densely-populated district in the heart of Ankara.
