The Azerbaijani Interior Minister and the Prosecutor General held new operative meeting and heard the account of operational investigative group on killing of publicist writer Rafiq Tagi, the joint statement of the Interior Ministry and the General Prosecutor's Office said on Thursday.

It was noted at the meeting that tasks set before the group have been completely fulfilled, a lot of operational search actions were carried out, over 130 people were interrogate as aggrieved and eyewitnesses, and various conclusion were received as a result of 10 complex examinations.

On Dec.16, 2011 evidence was obtained from widow of Rafiq Tagiyev Naila Tagiyeva, who has been recognized his legal heir, petitions of his personal lawyer Elchin Sadikhov were considered and relevant procedural decisions were made.

At this stage, no evidence proving the irresponsibility of doctors of ambulance station who brought Rafig Tagiyev to the Center of clinical medicine, and medical personnel who carried out his treatment was revealed. According to the forensic medical examination, his death was the result of inflicted multiple stab wounds. Research of the forensic medical examination on issues concerning the compliance of surgery and the treatment with medical procedure continues.

Along with this, an analysis of video surveillance recorded by 43 surveillance cameras by scheme developed along the route of the deceased prior to the incident and the day of the accident was conducted. It was found that only four cameras at two facilities, did not work due to technical problems and the conflict between the owners of these facilities.

The Interior Minister and the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan gave additional instructions for a detailed, intensive and thorough review of all assumptions put forward in connection with the crime, as well as for in-depth analysis of the peculiarities of life and creativity of Mr Tagiyev that characterize him in a professional and creative fields.

The investigation and operational search actions to solve the crime continue.

Rafiq Tagiyev was brought to the clinical center with stab wounds in the chest and abdomen and severe bleeding on Nov. 19. The patient was immediately operated on. However, Tagiyev's condition deteriorated on Nov. 23. Doctors failed to save his life, despite all their efforts.

Mr Tagiyev, a physician of the medical emergency station No 8 in Baku, was stabbed by unknown people on Nov. 19, while returning home.
