Gas consumption increases in Turkey

Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) of Turkey imported 35.67 billion cubic meters of gas from various sources in Jan.-Nov. 2014, compared to 34.29 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2013, a message posted on the website of BOTAS said.

Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan supplied via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).

In total, BOTAS imported 38.42 billion cubic meters of gas from various sources in 2013, compared to 43.09 billion cubic meters in 2012.

Around 588 million cubic meters of gas accounted for the export operations of BOTAS in Jan.-Nov. 2014, compared to 635 million cubic meters in the same period of 2013, according to the message.

In total, the company exported 694 million cubic meters of gas in 2013, compared to 622 million cubic meters in 2012.

Some 36.36 billion cubic meters of gas was sold in Turkey's domestic market in Jan.-Nov. 2014, compared to nearly 33.56 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2013.

This index exceeded 37.96 billion cubic meters of gas as of 2013, compared to around 41.44 billion cubic meters in 2012.
