Tashkent will host the next EU-Central Asia meeting at the level of foreign ministers on April 7, a source in the Uzbek government reported.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Elyor Ganiev will lead an Uzbek delegation at the meting.
Turkmenistan will be represented by deputy chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Kyrgyzstan- Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev, Tajikistan - First Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmudjon Sobirov and Kazakhstan - Deputy Foreign Minister Konstantin Jigalov.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi, the EU Commissioner on development Andris Piebalgs and EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel will represent the European Union.
The sides will revise current state and perspectives of development of relations between the EU and Central Asia within implementation of the new EU strategy for Central Asia, as well as issues of the trade-economic cooperation and regional interaction in energy, environment, use of water resources, border security and combating drug trafficking.
The sides will exchange opinion on situation in Afghanistan and other actual issues of regional security of mutual interest.
