Container houses are under construction for Syrian refugees in Turkey's Kilis province, Anadolu agency reported Feb. 19.
The houses will accommodate a total of 9,000 Syrian refugees.
Currently, over 13,000 people live in the Syrian refugee camps in Kilis province.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has spent over $10 billion to upkeep Syrian refugees.
At present, over 2 million Syrian refugees are in Turkey. The Syrian refugee camps in the country accommodate about 300,000 people. The rest of them are spread throughout the provinces and cities of Turkey. In Istanbul alone, there are currently 40,000 refugees from Syria.
