The Upland Park is a beautiful and green area, offering a picturesque view of the capital of Azerbaijan and Baku Bay. Back in the 30s of the twentieth century, the preparation of the Master Plan of Baku provided that the Upland Park, which is being created here, will be important in the overall architectural composition of the capital.
For many years, this park has been one of the favorite places of recreation for residents and visitors of the capital.
During the reconstruction of the park in 2011-2013, a variety of relief was skillfully used. Alleys and terraces are connected to each other by stairs, and the areas offer a breathtaking view of the Caspian Sea. Now this park has become one of the most beautiful places of recreation in the capital.
Baku guests, who will arrive to European Games June 12-28, can visit and get acquainted with this beautiful part of the capital, as well as have their souvenir photos taken there.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
