BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 4. The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery and Azerikimya Production Union are set for a scheduled maintenance shutdown in November, an informed source told Trend.
"A month-long shutdown of the mentioned facilities is scheduled for preventive maintenance of several production units," the source said.
It was mentioned that the next planned preventive maintenance may occur in two years.
To note, the refinery is presently undergoing a modernization and reconstruction project. The refinery currently produces approximately 30 types of products, including liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, industrial fuel oil, household fuel oil, petroleum coke, bitumen, and lubricating oils, as well as liquefied gas fractions, naphtha, and dry gas. Exports constitute up to 10 percent of total production.
On January 22, 2003, the "Azerikimya" Production Union was founded within SOCAR. The union's facilities include an ethylene-polyethylene plant, a surfactant plant, an organic synthesis plant, a machinery maintenance plant, a chemical engineering institute, a repair and construction division, a transportation and special equipment division, and a storage facility.
