Azerbaijan, Baku, August 9 /Trend/

The PJAK terror group killed five Iranian polices in Chaldran region, FNA reported on Tuesday quoting Governor of Maku city Hamid Ahmadian as saying.

The terror act happened on Monday.

Earlier, Kurdish Pjak terrorist group attacked on a Basij headquarters in Kurdistan province, Mehr News Agency reported on 29 July.

The Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (Pjak) members' attack left one dead and four injured.

Flaming fight between Iranian military forces and Pjak has continued since last month. Iran says about 50 Pjak members have been killed during last operations against this group.

Iran has recently deployed 5,000 military forces in the northwest of the country along its common border with the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

This is aimed to carry out military maneuvers with a view to stabilize the situation on the border area and fight the counterrevolutionary groups.

Members of the terrorist PJAK group - an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) - regularly engage in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.
