Azerbaijan, Ganja /corr. Trend V. Mammadov / Stealing arms, an officer deserted the military unit stationed in Togana village of Azerbaijan's district of Khanlar in the evening of 24 October. Khanlar is located 380km west of Baku.
Officer Kamran Asadov took four submachine guns and one machine gun from the military unit where he was serving, a Trend Regional Correspondent reports. In response to the incident, the entry and exit of Ganja city and Khanlar district have been closed.
The Press Service of Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry stated that an investigation is being held.
