Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 March / Trend corr I. Alizade/ Today's Parliament meeting decided to invite the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan to clarify why the Iranian police dispersed a demonstration in Teheran dedicated to the 16th Anniversary of the Khojali tragedy.

"The standing parliamentary commission for international and inter-parliamentary relations will hold special hearings in connection to this, to which it is necessary to invite the Iranian Ambassador to deliver a report," MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Chair of the Popular Front of Unified Azerbaijan Party, said at the parliamentary meeting on 4 March.

According to Hasanguliyev, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and Parliament should inform the Organization of Islamic Conference of the event in Iran.

MP Ganira Pashayeva also backed Hasanguliyev's suggestion. She said the Iranian authorities showed disrespect for the Azerbaijan State and the memory of those who were victims in Khojali. " Azerbaijan should seriously react to the event, while Iran should make things clear," she said.
