The retirements in the Azerbaijani Musavat Party are the result of petty ambitions of the party leadership, Opposition Citizens and Development Party chairman Ali Aliyev said.

"Subjective reasons lie at the heart of the events taking place in the Musavat Party. The political leaders, who are deprived of their ability to influence the objective political process, start completing small accomplishments, having no great political perspectives. As a result, the party goes into their monopoly of the use and we witness the lack of an objective position and diversity of opinion," Aliyev said.

Recently, four functionaries of the Musavat Party - namely Sulheddin Akbar, Ibrahim Ibrahimli, Adil Geybulla and Gabil Huseynli - resigned from their party posts.

Aliyev said the basis for these individuals' resign from the party, is the ambitions of Musavat Party leader Isa Gambar.

"Gambar, who in late 2009 stated that he will resign from his post, has now changed his mind. Now he is trying to avoid the consequences of his statement. The man, who some time ago spoke about the merge with another opposition party, today cannot find the strength to keep the promise. These subjective processes and the interest in controlling the entire party are subjective factors of events occurring in Musavat," Aliyev added.

According to him, these processes also affect the entire opposition in general.

"This process has a negative impact on the entire Azerbaijani opposition. However, the statement "we do not leave the opposition camp" of those who resigned from party posts should be seen as a positive factor. No prospects will occur in the future, if the opposition would not express its attitude towards different processes as a single camp rather than individual organizations, if it does not analyze the situation and does not eliminate all the shortcomings, the availability of which depends on it. The opposition should be stirred up and regrouped. It must be armed with the most correct ideology and give impetus to the formation of bipolar political camps in the country. If this happens, the Azerbaijani society will become a victim of corporate games of various political leaders, as well as be a witness to these processes," Aliyev said.

Musavat Assembly Chairman Arzu Samadbayli told Trend that Aliyev made such a statement because of his unfriendly stance against Gambar and the Musavat Party.

"Everyone thinks differently. Those who are partial think in that way. This is the opinion of those who want to split the party - people with evil intentions. Let them continue to think so, and distribute such statements. It has no effect on Gambar and Musavat. We are continuing our activities," Samadbayli said.
