Turkey is not fostering a sense of hatred and hostility to new generations, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday at the PACE winter session.
Turkey does not accept or considers inappropriate the expression of "genocide", said Abdullah Gul.
"We disagree with the allegations on committing any genocide in our past. But if there are such people who accept this and argue that "genocide" was committed, we openly declare: let us create a joint commission on this issue and bring together the scientists and historians who argue and refute that the "genocide" was committed. Let us completely open our archives and then take a final decision under this commission," he said.
Armenia claims that in 1915, the Turkish Ottoman Empire committed "genocide" against the Armenians living in Anatolia.
