The MPs are convinced that the merge of Information and Communication Technology Ministry (ICT) is not in favor of the country, IRNA reported quoting Reza Taghipour Minister of Information and Communication Technology as saying.

"The government is opposed to merge of ICT Ministry with Road and Transportation and "Housing and Urban Development" ministries," he said.

The MPs demanded a solution in Wednesday session while the government prepares to send a draft of merging two ministries to the parliament however the MPs suggested that the merge of 3 ministries to one should be suspended at least two years.

The merge of information ministry was not on government agenda and the president believes it should remain as before, Taghipour noted.

The issue is in hands of parliament yet there is no possibility to reconsider it since the Guardian Council refused to accept the issue.

'The government position is clear and it suggested for merge of Road and Transportation and "Housing and Urban Development" ministries,' he said.

Iranian Parliament approved formation of Ministry of Infrastructure merged from 3 Ministries of Road and Transportation, Housing and Urban development, Information and Communication Technology however the Guardian Council refused to approved the establish of the new ministry.

The new ministry would have the administrative power of Ministries of Road and Transportation , housing and urban development, Information and Communication Technology.

Earlier the Iranian government decided to merge the Oil Ministry with the Energy Ministry, while Labor Ministry is combined with the Welfare and Social Security Ministry.
