President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy as his country celebrates Bastille Day, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
"We attach great importance to developing multi-faceted relationship between our countries. The high level of interstate relations is accompanied by close cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres," the Azerbaijani leader said in the message.
President Aliyev said Azerbaijan and France also enjoyed the developing multilateral cooperation. "Joint cooperation within international organizations, European bodies is one of the factors ensuring the richness of relations between our two countries."
The Azerbaijani President also said: "We pin great hopes on the efforts of France, a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, and its President personally towards peaceful, soonest and just settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict."
