Seventh "Environment for Europe" Ministerial Conference ends in Astana

The Seventh "Environment for Europe" Ministerial Conferencehasended in Astana, the UNDP in Kyrgyzstan said.as
The agenda of the conference included two main issues: effective water management and related ecosystems, as well as the so-called economy "greening". The conference focused on Astana initiative "Green Bridge", which presents a bounding link and effective mechanism for resolving environmental issues.
An UNDP official delegation was headed by Jens Wandel , Deputy Regional Director and Regional Centre Director of UNDP .
As he said, the conference presents a platform for drawing on the challenges and finding joint solutions to those challenges, as well as supporting Kazakhstan's initiative on the Green Bridge.
During the conference, UNDP hosted more than 10 side-events on the topics such as climate risk management, low-carbon development, green buildings, transboundary water management and others.
Side events were attended by the partners from key ministries and agencies, NGO sector, rural communities, business structures and international experts.
All countries have supported and proposed to develop the initiative of Astana "Green Bridge".
