Georgian Parliament's Speaker David Bakradze will propose MP Lasha Tordia to the parliament for approval by the Chairman of the State Audit. As the Speaker's Office told Trend, his candidacy will be approved at an extraordinary meeting of the parliament on July 25.
The parliamentary majority has supported Tordia, stating that the post "needs such a man".
Tordia is Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights.
Post of chief state auditor became vacant when Levan Bezhashvili resigned on July 23. He will be majority candidate from the ruling United National Movement.
