A group of MPs from the French opposition party is preparing a new bill criminalising denial of the 'Armenian genocide', CNN Turk TV channel reported.
MPs have submitted the bill to parliament for consideration.
Earlier, the French parliament approved a bill criminalising denial of the 'Armenian genocide'. Later the French Constitutional Council annulled this law.
The Council justified this by the fact that the law is contrary to Article 33 of the French Constitution on the freedom of speech.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that the predecessor of the Turkey - Ottoman Empire had committed the 1915 genocide against Armenians living in Anadolu and achieved recognition of the 'Armenian Genocide' by the parliaments of several countries.
