Islamists in Egypt led by the 'Freedom and Justice Party' which is the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, oppose the adoption of a new constitution in the country, Al Jazeera TV channel said today.

According to the legal adviser for the 'Freedom and Justice Party' Ahmed Abu Baraka, this constitution is not legally legitimate and well-founded, as the removal of President Mohamed Morsi from the office was also illegal.

Earlier, Egyptian interim president Adly Mansour said that a draft of the new constitution which will be released in the coming months is being prepared.

Last Wednesday, the Egyptian military suspended the Constitution's activity, ousted the President Mohamed Morsi, who faced unprecedented protests and promised to hold early elections for a new president. Egyptian Islamists do not recognise these decisions and demand the return of power to the legally elected president.
