BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The AZIREX-2024 joint tactical exercises were conducted in the segment of the Caspian Sea under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with participation from both Azerbaijani and Iranian naval personnel and ships, the country’s Ministry of Defense told Trend.
The ministry noted that a briefing outlining the objectives of the "Search and Rescue at Sea" exercise and the associated tasks was presented, followed by mutual discussions.
The exercises aimed at strengthening military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran included activities focused on rescue and medical operations during shipwrecks, search and rescue missions, and ensuring vessel safety.
The tasks set for various stages of the training were executed by naval personnel, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
