All sides should unite efforts for provision of peace worldwide NATO Deputy Secretary General

NATO is not going to play a role of world police. It only wants to unify the efforts of the country in ensuring security in the world, Jean Furne, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, stated to a summer session of the International school of NATO in Baku on 3 July, Trend repots.

Furne noted that all countries should realize their common objective establishment of democracy, respect to human rights and freedom - for achievement of the collective security. All countries should unite the efforts in fighting with terror, trafficking and drug trafficking.

Organized by the Azerbaijani government in close partnership with the

NATO Department for Public Policy the event is held under the NATO week in Azerbaijan which will last till 8 July.

Attending the session were the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Araz Azimov, the Ambassadors of Norway, France, Greece, Georgia and Italy, a representative of the Turkish embassy, as well as 40 participants in the program of International School of NATO from different world countries.

Furne noted that the key objective of the session is to hold an exchange of opinion with the younger generation on ensuring the security in the world and the role of NATO in this respect.
