Azerbaijan and South Korea Signed a Memorandum in Transport Field

A memorandum on Azerbaijan to acquire motor cars in South Korea was signed during the visit of Azerbaijan Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov to South Korea, said Musa Panakhov, First Deputy Azerbaijan Transport Minister, Trend reports.

During the visit, issues on the bilateral cooperation in transport sphere, as well as an issue on bus delivery to Baku, in order to make Baku City transport infrastructure work efficiently, were discussed.

The buses will be bought by private passenger carrier owners. However, the Transport Ministry is responsible for regulating function that lies in determining standards of the motor cars to be used to carry passengers in Azerbaijan.

The first stage envisages buying 200 of such busses. Then, 500 more are expected to be bought.

All the work will be implemented by a Decree of the Azerbaijani President -Improving Baku City Transport System, 2006-2007.
