The Energy resources of Azerbaijan were on the focus of attention during the business-forum held in Germany with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The forum was also attended by the Minister of Economy and New Technologies of Germany, Mikhail Glas.
Making a speech at the forum, Glas said that Germany is interested in developing the economic relations with Azerbaijan. He highlighted that the oil resources of Azerbaijan are on the focus of attention of the European countries, adding that Azerbaijan plays a significant role in ensuring energy security of Europe, Trend reports quoting ANS TV.
Making a speech before the business people of Germany, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, highlighted the economical growth and successful energy policy of Azerbaijan. He said that 50 mln tons of oil is planned to be produced next year. The State Head underlined that Azerbaijan covers its internal demands and delivers oil and gas to Europe. Azerbaijan is interested in close co-operation with the foreign companies. However, the primary goal is to achieve the development of non-oil sector of Azerbaijan. Favorable investment conditions have been created in Azerbaijan. Approximately $30 bln of foreign investments have been put into Azerbaijan over the recent 10 years, Aliyev said.
Aliyev presented to the attention of the forum participants that presently 81% of GDP falls on to the share of the private sector and the State pays proper attention to the social sphere and tries to improve the conditions of the poor layer of population. Upon completion of the business-forum, Aliyev left for Azerbaijan.
