Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / A surprising thirty-two women out of 100,000 die while giving birth in Azerbaijan, Hijran Huseynova, the Chairwoman of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children said.
A total 1,508 infants less than one-years old died in Azerbaijan in 2006 and 2007.
The main reason for mothers dying while delivering babies and infant mortality is environmental and genetic changes. The other reason is poor knowledge among young mothers.
Most women in Azerbaijani regions do not partake in medical examinations.
