Murder Suspect Detained in Baku
Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 April / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / A suspect in the murder case of four members of one family, was detained in Baku. Javid Guliyev, Deputy Prosecutor of the Narimanov District of Baku, reported Trend that the detained person was Niyamaddin Nuriyev, 23, resident of Yardimli region of Azerbaijan.
During the preliminary evidence Nuriyev admitted his guilt.
According to Guliyev, the investigation revealed that Nuriyev entered the apartment and attacked the members of the family with a knife and an implementand set them on fire in order to hide any evidence. After stealing gold and $40,000, he then returned to Yardimli. Nuriyev had previously conducted repair work in the apartment.
The suspect was detained in Yardimli and taken to Baku. The stolen gold and money was found in his apartment in Yardimli.
Four members of the family resided in 26, 7/19 building, Yusif Ave, Narimanov District. They were identified as Ofelia Abbasova, Sevinch and Nargiz, Abbasova's daughters and Farid, aged 8, Abbasova's grandchild.
A criminal case has been filed in relation to Articles 120.2.1, 120.2.4, 120.2.5 and 120.2.7 (willful murder of two or more people) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
