Spanish star Enrique Iglesias and waltzing puppets were the highlights of a 10-minute closing ceremony ahead of Sunday's Euro 2008 final between Germany and Spain at the Ernst Happel stadium in Vienna. ( dpa )

Iglesias performed the official tournament song "Can you hear me?" while the 16 puppets were decorated with balloons in the colours of the participating teams at Euro.

The puppets danced together, recreating the matches each team has played, with the balloons then released into the air to represent the respective teams' elimination from the competition.

Around 320 performers took part in the ceremony, which was put together by French event agency Auditoire, whose artistic director, Martin Arnaud, staged the opening ceremony for the 1998 World Cup in France as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2004 Paralympics in Athens.
