Trend A.Aliyev / "President Ilham Aliyev's decree on adoption of the Conception of the state aid to development of media and rendering one-time financial aid to media target to develop the Azerbaijani media and to lead it to the level of Azerbaijan's adequate progress", Ali Hasanov, the head of Public and Political Issues Department of the President's Executive Administration, said.
According to Hasanov, development of independent Media in Azerbaijan is one of main priorities of the state policy. "The state cannot be satisfied with the current state of the Azerbaijani media. Therefore, the independent media developed slowly on the background of Azerbaijan's progress in all fields within the last five years and its logistics base is too weak ," Hasanov said and stated that the President's relevant decrees would increase the state aid to the Azerbaijani media outlets, which integrates the world information area.
"We consider that improvement of journalists' professionalism can be possible only in good social conditions," Hasanov said. The conception will be again discussed together with different journalistic organizations, especially with the Press Council. He said that the Conception envisaged creation of Media Assistance Fund. Necessary proposals will be developed and submitted to head of state to establish this Fund.
According to Hasanov, President Ilham Aliyev's decree on rendering one-time financial aid to media is a present for journalists in connection with the Press Day.
