The Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress (BAC) will convene for a second session in Amsterdam on March 7.
The reports of the BAC board and committees will be delivered and further challenges will be set at the session. New members will be elected to the board.
Heads of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora organizations in Benelux countries, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Europe, diplomatic corps, local political parties and employees of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Diaspora will attend, the committee said on Feb. 9.
The BAC was founded in Amsterdam on Nov. 18, 2006. The congress unites Azerbaijani diaspora organizations and the Iraqi Turkmen Assembly, which comprises 5 organizations.
The BAC was registered in the Netherlands. The BAC aims to unite and coordinate activities of the Azerbaijani and Turkish-speaking communities in the Benelux countries.
Roughly 40,000 Azerbaijanis and 500,000 Turks live in the Benelux countries. About 30 Azerbaijani diaspora organizations function in various cities in these states, the committee said.
