The Azerbaijani and South Korean Ministries discussed cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
The Azerbaijani Environment and Natural Resources Ministry and the South Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs held discussions on cooperation in environmental protection.
"Azerbaijani Environment and Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov met with his South Korean Counterpart Chung Jong-Hwan, as well as with delegation led by Jong-Hwan. The meeting decided on a phased implementation of the projects identified in conjunction with Korean experts to improve environmental management in Azerbaijan in several years," the ministry told Trend .
"Master Plan for Environmental Management in Azerbaijan" was prepared following the signing of "Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in environmental protection" by the two environment and natural resources ministries May 19, 2008.
"During this period, representatives of South Korea made several visits to Azerbaijan, the specialists of both countries discussed the components of the Master Plan for Environmental Management in Azerbaijan" and suggestions on the project, which is considered appropriate within the master plan for Azerbaijan's cooperation with South Korea," the ministry reported. .
The sides selected the projects, "Reuse of treated water for the irrigation of green areas", "Construction of solid waste landfill in Gobustan " and "Construction of an automated system for monitoring the ecological environment" as priority areas. South Korea will mostly support the application of technology on the environment meeting the modern requirements in these projects.
