A military man was accused of collaboration with Armenian special services. He is accused of torturing soldiers.
Today the prosecutor read out the indictment on a criminal case of a soldier serving in the military unit of the Ministry of Defence in Gadabay region Anar Allahverdiyev in the Military Heinous Crime Court.
During testimony at the trial Allahverdiyev pleaded himself not guilty. He said he did not use violence against soldiers and did not take their weapons.
According to the verdict of the Court, Allahverdiyev was sentenced to 14 years and 6 months under Articles 274 (treason), 338.1 (violation of the rules of combat duty (military service) for timely detection and reflection of a sudden attack on the Azerbaijan Republic, or to ensure security, if the act could harm the security interests of the state) and 341.1 (abuse of a superior or an official authority or official position, abuse of power or official authority, willful dereliction, if these acts were committed systematically either for mercenary motives or other personal interest, as well, if they caused substantial harm) of the Criminal Code.
When Allahverdiyev was in custody, violence against the soldiers of the military unit, where he served, was confirmed. A criminal case was filed.
These facts were established during the trial in a criminal case against the soldiers who made Allahverdiyev spy in favor of the Armenian special agencies.
Allahverdiyev was charged with Article 232.2.1 (theft or extortion of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices by a group of people by prior agreement) of the Criminal Code.
