Azerbaijani gymnast ranks sixth in World Cup

The World Cup on Rhythmic Gymnastics completed in Pesaro, Italy.  Two gymnasts of Azerbaijan attended the championship.

Four separate finals were held on the final day of competition, the Azerbaijani Gymnastics Federation told Trend.
Azerbaijani athlete Aliya Garayeva took part in three of them. Garayeva perfumed best in the exercises with skipping rope (27.25 points) and hoop (27.675 points), and took the sixth place. Garayeva got 25,075 points in exercise with ribbon and ranked the eighth.  

Garayeva took seventh place in the all-around. Azerbaijani gymnasts Samira Mustafayeva ranked the 31st among 79 participating countries. Russian athlete Evgenia Kanayeva became the winner of the tournament in all types of programs.

Anna Gurbanova was supposed to perform in Pesaro. However, she got a small injury before the start and coaches did not allow her to attend the tournament.

The general rehearsal before the start of the World Cup in Moscow will be held in the Israeli town of Holon. There will be a regular tournament of the Grand Prix and the Open International Championships Sept. 3-5. Garayeva, Gurbanova and Mustafayeva, as well as Jeyla Guliyeva Aelit Khalafova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Anastasia Prasolova, Stephanie Tryanova and Eugenia Jidkova - in the team, are expected to attend the events.
