The Japanese government intends to implement environmental projects in Azerbaijan, the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Masamitsu Oki has told Trend.

"Projects in education, agriculture, and healthcare are very important for us. But ecological projects have special importance because Azerbaijan is developing. Therefore, there is an impact on the environment," Oki said.

A project on waste management in Azerbaijani Ismayilli region and a project to clean a river in Sheki region are being implemented with the support of the Japanese government.

"We continue to realize projects related to the environment, including those associated with the use of renewable energy sources. I would like to emphasize such projects as conducting professional training sessions because participation in these give people an opportunity to get jobs, such as in the car industry or agriculture. By passing such courses, they acquire necessary experience," Oki said.
