The members of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman's Office and the Justice Ministry's Regime Control Department conducted a joint investigation in the Gobustan Prison.
Members of the staff familiarized with the detention conditions of life sentenced prisoners Rafiq Bayramov, Fuad Orujov, Dashgin Guliyev, Rustam Mehdiyev, Vugar Dadashov, Alibaba Aliyev Shakir Rzahanov, the Ombudsman's Office said.
Only one of the prisoners, Rzahanov, spoke about a hunger strike in connection with transferring of one of the convicts.
Prisoner Araz Akhmedov did not express any complaints about the detention conditions. He said that he had not been beaten by prison officers. He was inspected; no signs of violence were found.
It was revealed that the cells that do not meet the standards are closed for repair.
