One silver and two bronze medals - this is the "catch" of the Azerbaijani gymnasts at the World Cup, held last weekend in Pesaro (Italy).

The leader of the national team Aliya Garayeva confirmed her reputation, the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported. She two times rose to Italian bronze medal pedestal. In the finals with a hoop and ball, Garayeva competed with Russian Yevgenia Kanaeva and Belarusian Lubov Cherkashina, gaining 27.03 and 27.65 points respectively. Another Azerbaijani gymnast Anna Gurbanova ranked the 18th in all-round amongst 43 participants.

Azerbaijan was represented in the Apennines by the junior group team comprising of Lale Yusifova, Mansura Bagiyeva, Ayshe Mustafayeva, Siyani Vasileva, Aynur Jabbarli and Sabina Garatova.
"After the first qualification, the girls moved to the third place, said the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team Mariana Vasileva. - But in the finals, gaining high, 25 points, the team ranked the second after Russia, and higher than Israel."

With regards to the junior team, the best result was recorded in the final exercise with five balls - the eighth place. In the international tournament of juniors, 13-year old Gulsum Shafizade and Leman Dadashli ranked the 11th and 19th respectively amongst 31 participants.
And at the end of this week, April 2-3, Gulsum Shafizade, as well as other junior Leman Hajizadeh (born in 1999) and Zainab Javadli will perform in an international tournament to be held in Poland.
