The Azerbaijani Tourism Institute, Baku Tourism and Information Center and Azerbaijan Tourism Agencies Association have become members of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Tourism and Culture Ministry reported.
The Azerbaijani Tourism Institute aims to resolve the staff problems in the tourism industry in the country.
The Institute established in 2006, had 74 graduates in 2010. Some 14 of them also received an appropriate certificate of the Krems University in Austria.
The Baku Tourism and Information Center is engaged in provision of complete information about Azerbaijan and its capital to foreign tourists visiting Baku, providing tourists a variety of printed advertising materials and promotion of Azerbaijan's tourism potential at the international exhibitions.
The ATAA was created with the Tourism and Culture Ministry's assistance in January 2009.
The association protects the interests of travel agencies, develops bills, recommendations and regulations, and assists in establishing national travel companies.
