The Shahdag winter and summer tourist complex being constructed in Azerbaijan will receive tourists in early 2012, Azerbaijani Culture Ministry Apparatus head Firudin Gurbanov told Trend.

He said the complex will initially accept as many tourists as the hotel can accommodate.

As for prices, they will match prices on the world market, Gurbanov said. The ministry will try to keep these prices not higher than the world price.

Gurbanov said the complex will be commissioned in late 2011.
This complex is the largest project in Azerbaijan' tourism sector now. The state budget allocated funds to create this complex.

These funds are initially directed to creation of the complex infrastructure.
"Certainly, it was a great investment in this infrastructure. Of course, first should be addressed other technical issues. Cable cars are being built here due to the fact that it is winter recreation center," Gurbanov said.

The state will provide over $1 billion for the construction of this complex. The construction of accommodation facilities in the complex also requires huge investments.

"Most likely, the private institutions will in the future fund the construction of accommodation facilities, food and transport infrastructure. I can not say how much money the private sector will invest in this complex," Gurbanov said.
