Azerbaijan prepares new bill on ‘Culture’

A new bill on culture was recommended for consideration at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament.
The law, adopted in 1998, will meet modern requirements, MP Nizami Jafarov said at a meeting of the committee on culture.
He said mycg work has been recently conducted to familiarize the world with Azerbaijan's cultural heritage. It is planned to create Azerbaijani cultural centers in foreign countries to carry out this propaganda in the broad form.
"The works of art must be delivered to the market," he said. "The Producers Institute must be formed to represent a piece of art on the market. A poet, a painter must not sell their own works."
The bill defines the basic principles of cultural policy, legal, social, and economic foundations on cultural activities, the status of cultural employees.
