The women's wrestling events in the weight categories of 50, 53, 55 and 72 kilograms started on the fourth day of the competitions within the World Wrestling Championship in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, Trend reports on Sept. 18.

Azerbaijani female wrestler Maria Stadnik defeated her Nigerian rival in the classification round.

Moreover, Stadnik gained a victory over the Russian athlete in the 1/4 finals. The Azerbaijani wrestler managed to reach the semifinals and become the only athlete who obtained a license for participating in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.

Having gained a victory over a Chinese wrestler in the semi-finals, Stadnik reached the finals of the World Championship for the fifth time. She defeated her rival from Romaniawithin half a minute in the decisive match.
