Cases of bird death in Azerbaijan considerably dropped, Trend reports quoting Huseyn Baghirov, the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister, as saying on Thursday.
At present the figure comprises 3 or 5 birds a day. Dead birds have been revealed on Absheron Peninsula and Gilazi recently.
According to Baghirov, the number of dead birds reached over 15,000, but the figure may be inexact, as several organizations are simultaneously involved in the issue and the population destroys birds in some regions without permission.
Taking into consideration the season of bird migration completes in April, the Ministry works on collection of information on the countries, where birds fly from.
