Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / Judge Tofik Allahverdiyev, has stated that the investigation of Rovshan Novruzoglu, the Azerbaijani Director of the Centre Against Corruption and International Terrorism and political scientist, will be completed by the end of September 2007.
According to the Judge, he annually meets with Novruzoglu and stated that he had no health problems. Novruzoglu does not agree with the accusations made against him. The political scientist has been charged with contravening Articles 320.1 (falsification of documents), Article 320.2 (use of false documents) and Article 310 (appropriation powers of officials) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. Novruzoglu was imprisoned on the basis of the documents submitted by the Executive Administration of Baku City to the Prosecutor General's Office of Nasimi District. Novruzoglu represented himself as the official of the Prosecutor Office and the Department against corruption at the Prosecutor General's Office. The Investigation Department on Grave Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan is investigating the case. The political scientist is kept under the National Security.
