Azerbaijan's value of exports to Italy growing

Exports from Azerbaijan to Italy in value terms in the first seven months of 2021 grew, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the SCC, this figure exceeded $4.3 billion up by 22.9 percent on annual basis. Accordingly, the share of Italy in total Azerbaijani exports rose from 32.12 percent (recorded last year) to 38.24 percent.

From January through July 2021, value of Azerbaijan’s import of Italian products has increased from $246.7 million (recorded last year) to $261.5 million (by 4.9 percent). The share of Italy in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 4.18 percent of the total volume against 4.18 percent in the same period of 2020, the SCC said.

The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries in the specified period totaled over $4.6 billion, growing by 31.1 percent on annual basis.

The balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, increased by 57.7 percent on annual basis - up to nearly 5.1 billion manat ($3 billion).

In total, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through July this year approached $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for nearly $11.4 billion (64.4 percent), imports - $6.3 billion (35.6 percent).
