Azerbaijani State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance talks expiration of grace period on compulsory heath insurance

Due to the expiration of the grace period for employers and employees working in the industry, the compulsory medical insurance will be charged at the rate of 2 percent of the monthly wage not exceeding the amount of 8,000 manat ($4,706), and 0.5 percent of the part of the wage exceeding the amount of 8,000 manat ($4,706), the Director of the Marketing and Public Relations Department of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance, Aynura Akhmadova said, Trend reports citing the State Tax Service.

According to the health insurance law, contributions for compulsory health insurance are collected from January 1, 2021.

The 50 percent discount was applied on the insurance contribution amount paid by employers and employees working in non-state and non-oil sectors from the part of the monthly wage fund not exceeding 8,000 manat ($4,706) before January 1, 2022.

Currently, employers and employees working in the non-state and non-oil sectors are charged 1 percent of the monthly wage fund not exceeding 8,000 manat and 0.5 percent of the part exceeding the amount of 8,000 manat.
