BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. At the beginning of the current construction season in Azerbaijan, an increase in prices for building materials has been recorded only for several types if building materials, real estate expert Ramil Qasimzadeh told Trend.
"Basically, there is an increase in prices at the level of up to 20 percent for iron and fittings, cement has slightly risen in price. If earlier a bag of cement cost 6.50 manat ($3.8), now prices fluctuate between 7-8 manat ($4). There is also a slight increase in prices for crushed stone and sand," Qasimzadeh said.
The expert noted that the cost of lumber has been 350-380 manat ($205-223) per cubic meter for several months, and bitumen - 22 manat ($12.9). There are no changes in the price of bricks and building blocks, he added.
