BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. The amount of funds allocated for environmental safety in Azerbaijan in 2024–2027 has been revealed, Trend reports.
The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan said that, within the framework of the medium-term budget for the above period, Azerbaijan plans to allocate 376.8 million manat ($221.6 billion) for the mentioned field in 2024, 391.2 million manat ($230.1 million) in 2025, 400.8 million manat ($235.7 million) in 2026, and 410.5 million manat ($241.4 million) in 2027.
The funds include 316.7 million manat ($186.29 million) for environmental assessment next year, 331.1 million manat ($194.7 million) in 2025, 341 million manat ($200.59 million) in 2026, and 350.8 million manat ($206.3 million) in 2027.
In addition, it's planned to allocate 20 million manat ($11.7 million) for reforestation, protection, and efficient use of forest resources from the budget for environmental protection every year from 2024 through 2027.
Moreover, it's planned to allocate 18 million manat ($10.59 million) from the budget every year from 2024 through 2027 for land protection, land cadastre, regulation of land relations, and efficient use of land.
According to the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 2469 dated February 2, 2021, the following five national priorities of the policy of socio-economic development of the country until 2030 are defined: a sustainable, growing competitive economy; a society based on dynamic, inclusive, and social justice; competitive human capital and space for modern innovations; a great return to liberated territories; a clean environment; and a country of "green growth".
