The volume of construction work in Uzbekistan increased in 1Q2020, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
In the period from January through March 2020, the volume of construction work in Uzbekistan amounted to 15.4 trillion soums ($1.5 billion).
The growth rate against the corresponding period of 2019 reached 6.5 percent.
The volume of construction work, as a rule, is formed by combining work of large construction organizations, small enterprises and micro-firms.
As of April 1, 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in the construction sector amounted to 37,500 and, compared to the same period of 2019, it increased by 18.9 percent.
Construction work carried out by state organizations in the country made up 614.5 billion soums ($60.4 million), the volume of construction work carried out by non-governmental organizations made up 14.8 trillion soums ($1.4 billion).
Construction work with the highest growth rates were recorded in Namangan, Bukhara, Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Navoi regions.
