Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend U.Ismayilova / The Technical Committee on Food and Agriculture Standards of the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan, established in February 200y, will start operating in 2008. Galib Agayev, the deputy head of the Standardization Department of the State Agency and deputy head of the Committee, said on 27 November.
"The Technical Committee will develop national standards for food and agriculture products," Agayev said.
In the past food products containing ingredients dangerous to health were found in markets of different countries.
According to Agayev, the committee will function at the Institute of Standards, which was also established at the Institute of Food Industry in 2007.
The Committee employs specialists for further cooperation.
"The first meeting of the committee will be held at large. The plan of the Committee will be discussed during the meeting," Agayev said.
